Q) What does Scintilla means?

A) Scintilla is ‘Spark’. We strive to create and impart knowledge in various fields of Education and Research with integrity. We make every effort to scintillate the innovative minds of students to new horizons and to enable the youth to take best advantage of their educational opportunities to build a better tomorrow, particularly for themselves and society at large.

Q) Why Scintilla?

A) The SAASER has partnered with University of Mysore (http://www.uni-mysore.ac.in/programs/), Mysore, Karnataka, India to offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Pharmaceutical management and Cancer Biology.

Q) Why is it so important to educate students in applied aspects of life sciences?

A) Now the basic science laboratory work in test tubes and in animals is being translated into clinical use in humans…

Q) How many times a year are students admitted into Scintilla?

A) Once a year.

Q) For how long do I need to wait for the entrance result?

A) 2 days.

Q) What documents are required when submitting an application?

A) Following documents are required at the time of application submission:

• Attach Mark’s Card of 10th, 12th, Entrance Test Score, if any and degree Mark sheet.

• Mark sheets of Graduation for Graduates.

OR

Mark sheets up to pre-final year for candidates graduating in 2017. They must also bring the following:

A certificate in original from the Principal of their Institution stating that by 30 June 2017, they will have appeared for examination in all subjects required for obtaining their Bachelor’s degree.

A certificate from the Principal certifying that they have obtained requisite marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks.

• Candidates with qualifications acquired through correspondence or distance- learning programmes must carry a proof of pass certificate in addition to mark sheets of graduation.

• Printout of Score card of  Recent Entrance Test, if any.

• Applicant copy with demand draft for Rs.500/- in the name of Scintilla Academy for Applied Sciences’ Education and Research from any Nationalised Bank.

• Two passport  size photographs, identical to the photograph affixed in the application form.

• Photo identification: (Driving license, Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, college ID, Employee Identification card are acceptable)

Q) What documents are required when appearing for interview once selected in entrance test?

A) Following documents are required at the time of application submission:

• Attach Mark’s Card of 10th, 12th, Entrance Test Score, if any and degree Mark sheet.

• Mark sheets of Graduation for Graduates.

Q) What are the teaching methods used in scintilla?

A) Design Thinking, Group analysis, brainstorming and other following innovative and creative ideas.

• Power point presentation: Use of slides

• Lecture demonstration by other instructors from a specialized field (guest speaker).

• Problem solving or case studies.

• Presentations by student that help the students build public speaking skills and confidence.

Q) What is the fees for the courses?

A) As per Scheme B of UoM

Q) Is there any provision for submitting the fees in installments?

A) Yes – Depending on the financial situation of the candidate.

Q) I am an outsider, where do I stay in Bangalore?

A) Scintilla Provides Hostel/ PG facility.

Q) How far is the accommodation from the college?

A) Less than 1 km.

Q) What is the average hostel fees?

A) INR 3000/month without food INR 6000/month with food.

Q) Do you accept transfer students from other universities/colleges?

A) Yes, with approval from University of Mysore and NOC from leaving University.

Q) What is the class size?

A) Maximum of 40 students.

Q) Is there any on-campus recruitment program?

A) Yes, currently Internship interviews are done on the campus.

Q) On what basis is a student sent for internship?

A) Area of interest and match with your skills with Industry requirement.
